Design Superintendent- Naval Architect

<p>Complete design tasks as allocated by Design Manager.<br/>Liaise with classification and flag surveyors.<br/>Ensure designs comply with technical specification.<br/>Ensure designs comply with Class and Flag requirements.<br/>Assist with conducting inclining experiments, lightship survey.<br/>Develops & Maintains a sound knowledge of all Rules and Regulations pertaining to the design and construction of high speed aluminium vessels.<br/>Drives conclusion of the technical risks of the project to ensure mitigation to the lowest possible level.<br/>Drives the resolution of issues such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and complex coordination requirements.<br/>Provides technical leadership to a Design Team.<br/>Develops a design schedule that is achievable and in line with the projects commitment.<br/>Sets goals and ensures all work is completed to schedule.<br/>Coordinates technical activities for project completion.<br/>Ensures team members are developed in their preferred discipline as well as across disciplines.<br/>Participate in technical discussion with the client as required</p>

<p>*Quality/ Standard;<br/>Work produced is of a high quality and consistent with Austal and Design standards.<br/>Provides high quality and accurate output.<br/>Takes ownership over tasks performed personally and by the team.<br/>Demonstrates ability in solving design issues within level of expertise.<br/>Well organised, self-motivated and task driven.<br/><br/>*Qualification, Technical Skills & Experience:<br/>Bachelor of Engineering (Naval Architect) or equivalent<br/>Knowledge of regulatory body Rules and Regulations requirements.<br/>> 7 years relevant experience<br/>Experience in Ship Structure Design.<br/>Proficient in Drafting software, Autocad, Shipconstructor, Microsoft office suite & other ship design softwares.<br/>Good understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment.</p>
